SAFETY TESTS: tested at 10,000 V to work on 1,000 V electrical installations.

L

Beta’s high-insulation tools are tested piece by piece at 10 kV, with a view to providing unparalleled quality for working instruments which are required to ensure ultra-high safety standards: they make it possible to work at voltages up to 1,000 V a.c. (1,500 V d.c.).

SAFETY STANDARDS: Although extremely stringent tests are performed during production, before using a tool, the operator must always check the insulating handle for tears, modifications or damage. Keeping the dielectric properties unchanged in time is closely connected with the mechanical, chemical or thermal stress the tool may be subjected to. In case the insulator should get damaged, the tool cannot be considered safe for use in live installations. Always wear protective goggles and insulated gloves.

TESTS PERFORMED DURING PRODUCTION

100% visual test: All the surface finishes of the tools must be free from externally visible defects

| 89MQ * single ring wrenches

Crash test: After 2 hours at -25 °C, the tool is hit three times (by such a specific weight as provided for by the standard); the insulating handle must not show any signs of damage.

-25°

L

Penetration test: A weight of 2 kg is applied to the tool handle at +70 °C for two hours. Later a voltage of 5 kV is applied to the area that is subjected to mechanical pressure for 3 minutes. No signs of current passing through must be shown.
