PIN PUNCHES Beta’s striking tools have been designed to provide optimal performance and ensure the operator’s safety. A special type of steel, which contains chrome, molybdenum and vanadium (65CrMoV2-2) is used for production, resulting in remarkably hard and tough tools. The products are made - if so allowed by their geometry - with drawn bars; otherwise, they are hot-forged in a controlled atmosphere, to avoid slag formation.

the pin punches are fitted with extremely long though perfectly straight shanks, to allow access to small spaces.

To make sure that the pin punches are correctly sized, every single piece is faced, so that a uniform cylindrical part and a perfectly flat end can be obtained, for increased efficacy. All the faces are subjected to induction tempering, to prevent splintering; the deformation of the striking point is a natural consequence, so that the operator’s safety can be ensured.

 

The centre and pin punches are sharpened after being chrome-plated, to provide improved engraving and cutting performance, and remove the galvanic deposit from the tips. Overdeposits need to be removed, to prevent “rounding” of the corners and brittleness as a result of the amount of hydrogen produced during electroplating. he worked areas are protected with a rust-proof layer.
